Not a drop. Seriously, not a drop yet consumed.
Episode 79: The B-Side
In this episode, Chris Knapp, Chris Smith, Glenn Crim, Jorge Oseguera, and barbecuing, birthday-party ninja, Kyle Sandate talk about all the “B’s” in life: Bubonic plague, black beer, bad decisions, B as a middle initial, baldness, Brontosauruses, butt throat, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Fat Back, badly-damaged eight-finger golf, big brains, bimbos, bumpers, bad-ass Stoutcast Stickers…and -most importantly- the men and women we honor every year for their bravery on Memorial Day. So, take a second to say thank you, crack open a new episode HERE, and enjoy.
Moonlight Brewing “Death & Taxes” Black Lager 5.3%
Jorge: I’m pretty snarky for someone half an hour late. Bitter. GOOD.
Bob: I should learn to read. Not a stout. Soldier on. Might contain gluten. Promises iced coffee. GOOD. No tobacco, kids!
Kyle: Not as heavy as a stout. We could use this in a slushy machine. GOOD. I did have gin in the slushy machine earlier, though.
Smith: Angry grandpa vibe with this. Tobacco? FAIR. Butt throat. This doesn’t fly at the Harvard of the Sierra.
Glenn: GOOD. Drinkable
Knapp: GOOD
Sutter Buttes “Specter” American 6.6%
Bob: Missing barley. That’s a good thing. Table saw safety, kids! GOOD/VERY GOOD
Smith: VERY GOOD.
Jorge: Light on the chocolate and coffee. VERY GOOD.
Knapp: Nice and dry. VERY GOOD.
Kyle: GOOD/VERY GOOD
Crim: VERY GOOD. Promises as delivered.
Black Plague “Medusa” Imperial Milk 8.5%
Bob: Too bad the brewery closed. (Editor’s note. The “Meow Meow Meow song was for Meow Mix cat food, not Friskies. The hosts sort of regret the error. The “Yum Yum” song was by the Fat Back Band.) Imperial Milk? The booze is overwhelming it a bit. GOOD. No alcohol before 21, kids!
Chris: Milk stout leaking from her eyes?
Jorge: VERY GOOD/EXCELLENT Well balanced.
Kyle: I like the coconut. VERY GOOD. Don’t mind me talking while everyone else talks.
Smith: This is deep-thinker. EXCELLENT.
Knapp: EXCELLENT. Jorge being late let this warm up. Nice and toasty.
Crim: EXCELLENT.
