Episode 60: An Alley Airing Of Grievances

Join us for a laundry list of civil discussions (arguments) over the suitability of tuxedo shirts, shades of purple, the location of the esophagus, proper sweatshirt attire, the drinkability of swill and the enjoyability of whiskey masquerading as beer. The Alley’s Stephanie Erikson goes toe to toe with Bob Moffitt in what is soon to become a holiday classic. Click HERE for the podcast episode.

Left Hand “Mole” Milk 6% abv 25 IBUs

Stephanie: Do I want Mexican food in my beer? My taste buds are really enjoying this. My esophagus is burning. Hello, acid reflux. Love the taste. Could do with a lot less heat.

Bob: Esophagus, schmophagus. My throat is burning. Good taste. Was expecting Mexican hot chocolate. Not sure we got there. If you like chili in your beer, rejoice. Not sure how much of this I would enjoy. #flightworthy GOOD.

Breakside and Beachwood Brewing “Macchiato” 7.7% abv

Stephanie: Starts rough. Improves with time. Still not my favorite FAIR/GOOD.

Bob: Starts like coffee. Stays like coffee. If you like coffee, there is…coffee here. The coffee is too much for a guy who doesn’t drink coffee. GOOD. Great mixed with eggnog.

Left Hand “Double Milk” 10.5% abv

Bob: Sweetness is where I live. Hides the alcohol…probably too well. VERY GOOD. I…can’t…read…the…

Stephanie: Gimme that. “…label…be…cause…it…is…su…per…tiny…font. Tastes good. Too sweet. GOOD.

Lagunitas “Willettized” Imperial 13.5% abv

Stephanie: Willits? There’s a beer named after Willits? I would like some more whiskey with my whiskey, please. Wait. There’s coffee in here? GOOD

Bob: I would like some coffee with my whiskey, please. It’s not a cat, but it’s unenjoyable and barely drinkable. Kind of like another bad beer I know…gold and black label…what is the name of that… Not sure it qualifies as a stout. POOR/FAIR
