Deschutes “Obisidian” American 6.4% abv
Promises espresso carapil malts
Mike: little roastier than I like. Not gonna pour it out. GOOD
Evan: I really like the roast. Goes down easy. Enjoyable. Not sweet chocolate, balances with roast. They hit the mark they were aiming for VERY GOOD.
Bob: overcooked a little for me but come through with what they promise. No chocolate. Good aftertaste GOOD/VERY GOOD
Atlantic “Cadillac Mountain” Dry Irish 6.7%
Mike: Oxidation or age, cardboard, floral. FAIR
Evan: little more body than expecting. Not horrible. FAIR.
Bob: little fruity. Could be the worst label ever FAIR
Odell “Lugene” Chocolate Milk 10.5 abv https://www.odellbrewing.com/beer/whiskey-barrel-aged-lugene/
Mike: Oak, vanilla, like a good cigar. VERY GOOD/EXCELLENT
Evan: A lot going on in here. Damned good beer. Big. VERY GOOD/EXCELLENT
Bob: Love the label. Smoother than expected, hint of whiskey well-blended. The taste is fabulous, but the aftertaste brings it down to a VERY GOOD.
Tower “Ten Karat” Golden 10% abv
Evan: It’s not officially a type yet, so people taunt it, but it’s got tons of oats, but no malts. Smooth. Cacao nibs and the coffee shine through.
Mike: It is a golden stout dammit. Made with Cru Chocolate and Simply Roots Coffee
Bob: Mind blown. Confusion. Funky. Delivers what it promises buuuut too much coffee for me. VERY GOOD/EXCELLENT.
Tower “Sir Brix A Lot” Imperial 11.3%
Mike: Pastries are more popular.
Evan: More along the lines of a pastry. Baby got cinnamon, cacao nibs, vanilla. Cacao nibs
Bob: Sweet, yummy, this is what you’d expect from a pastry. A skosh bitter at the end. EXCELLENT
