Episode 12: California Craft Beer Summit

There were so many mountains to climb. Some were covered in peanut butter., others in coconut or maple syrup. It was so messy, we had to do two podcasts. CLICK HERE to hear the first flight, then come back here when you’re in the stout section. t’s just Bob and his taste buds this time so keep that in mind.

Mother Earth Brew Co “Sin Tax” Peanut Butter

VERY GOOD. Best peanut butter stout tried to date, and it’s not even close. A little aftertaste, but not bad. Deliciously surprising and surprisingly delicious.

Barley Forge “Patsy” Coconut/Rye

GOOD: Two negatives do make a positive. Little bitter, but far exceeding the expectations of someone who likes neither Rye nor coconut

Coronado Brewing Co “Early Bird” coffee milk

GOOD: Promises coffee and chocolate. Delivers coffee, a lingering aftertaste, and a note of paranoia when the people pouring the beer at a beer festival aren’t allowed to talk about the beer.

Abnormal Beer Co. “Maple Mornings” imperial

EXCELLENT. When the first word out of your mouth is “Wow,” you’re on to something. Everything a sweet, boozy breakfast should be, in waves.

Lost Abbey/Port Brewing “Bourbon Serpent’s” barrel-aged imperial

VERY GOOD: Promises bourbon and delivers a clean finish

Belching Beaver “Peanut Butter” milk

GOOD/FAIR/NOT FOR ME: If you like Reese’s it’s great. If you don’t…
